Early Times Report Srinagar, Apr 13: The Fire and Emergency Services Department has reportedly asked the retired drivers to submit the applications for their re-engagement in the department. Sources told Early Times that outgoing Director General of the Fire Services before attaining superannuation had scrapped the list of the new recruits and had declared the recruitment drive conducted by the department null and void. After the then DG scrapped the list the candidates, who were selected by the department moved the court and managed to get a stay order. Insiders revealed that F&ES department cannot hold a new recruitment drive till the fate of the candidates, who have got the stay order, is decided. "Department is facing acute shortage of the staff especially the drivers. To overcome the staff shortage the department has decided to re-employ the old employees especially the drivers. Shabir Ahmed Lone was transferred from District Institute of Elementary Training (DIET) Kishtwar to Higher Secondary School Mughal Maidan through an order (No. 499-DSEJ of 2017, dated 7-04-2017). "11.3 percent people in Kashmir suffer from mental health disorder which is higher than the national average," says the study conducted by researchers at Government Medical College Srinagar.
