Doda, Feb 16: One day training programmes for the office bearers of KVK farmer clubs of District Doda was today conducted at KVK Doda Headquarters at Gwari today under the guidance of Directorate of Extension SKUAST Jammu.
The training programme was attended by the chief and associate volunteers of farmer clubs of the district. The programme was aimed at capacity building of the office bearers of farmer clubs with respect to management and record keeping of farmer clubs.
Ravneet Kour Incharge Senior Scientist and Head informed that 9 farmer clubs formed by the KVK have been sanctioned by NABARD this year for financial assistance and urged upon them for early launching of clubs.
Narinder Paul, scientist KVK Doda apprised the participants about record keeping, financial management, organizing meetings, recording proceeding and preparing small agriculture based projects to the farmer club members.
He also insisted upon strengthening the clubs for evolving an effecting model of transfer of agriculture technology to cover all the farmers of the village to meet the prime objective of facilitating the development in rural areas through awareness, capacity building, technology transfer, credit and linkage.
Sanjay Khajuria urged upon the participants to link farmer clubs with all development departments for overall development of not only agriculture but also other sectors.
GN Jha suggested for protection and conservation of traditional knowledge and wisdom of the district. Amit Singh Charak urged upon for adopting recommended agronomic practices in crops for maximizing production and productivity.
The programme was attended by Prem Raj, MD Sharma, Kamal Singh, Farooq Ahmad, Mohan Lal, Ghulab Din, Narinder Baloria.
