Jammu, Feb 16: A large number of activists of Shiv Sena (Thackery) today held strong protest demonstrations at SIDCO Chowk of Bari Brahmana against the illegal settlement of Rohingyas in the Jammu city and its outskirts.
Organized by Dimpy Kohli State President Shiv Sena (Thackrey) and led by Manish Sahni ( Gen Sec), , the activists of the organization assembled at the SIDCO Chowk to register their resentment.
Addressing the gathering Manish Sahni said that J&K is a sensitive state and is already reeling under so many threats ranging from terrorism, communal tensions, cold war and now the inflow of Rohingyas further has sparked the apprehensions and insecurity among people of region.
"Bangladeshis and Myanmar national of which majority are beggars and street hawkers get acquainted with the nook and corners of Jammu, which in terms of security is a very big threat."
Smelling a deep rooted conspiracy behind the settlement these immigrants in Jammu region, Sahni said that it had also been reported that these people had clandestinely managed Permanent Resident Certificates, identity cards, ration cards and water and electricity connections with the help of some politicians and officials in the administration which is a matter of grave concern .
He said, "While the Rohingyas from Myanmar and Bangladesh could manage to settle in Jammu besides Tibetan refugees enjoying voting rights in Kashmir, ironically the West Pakistan refugees in Jammu still are struggling for their rights since 1947."
He also said that some immigrants reportedly are involved in several criminal and rebellious backgrounds were prone to 'Jehadi extremism' in the militancy hit State.
