MC fails to proceed with Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in Kathua

Early Times Report
KATHUA, Feb 16: It appears that crores of rupees have been spent on advertising Swachch Bharat Mission launched by Prime minister Narendra Modi but that mission would not be taken seriously by Municipal Council Kathua as entire town is filled with garbage resulting in smell, communicative diseases, ugliness and difficult to walk but despite of having knowledge about all these MC Kathua acts like spectators only .
Dy CM Nirmal Singh who has additional charge of ministry of Urban body and Housing department never issued any particular instruction to MC Kathua for maintaining beauty of the town.
Raj Kumar alleged MC Kathua to take the cleanliness drive lightly as several places in upper Shiva Nagar especially near over head tank filled with garbage and Contaminated water and added that outside Mahatma Gandhi hospital, Zarai morh, Old bus stand, beside District Jail etc face negligence of the department.
Sushil Kumar said MC provides dustbin in few areas but they are not regularly lifted resulting in over flow of garbage and added that there is no use of spending huge amount on advertising and publicity of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan if officials ground level can't do anything to actually clean the town.
Ashish said the matter has been highlighted before EO MC Kathua but he always gave deaf hearing and did not initiate any effort.
Locals appealed MLA Kathua that being a representative of the constituency, he must be concerned about suffering of people and issue instructions to MC officials who show laziness in their profession but being paid with huge salary.
