|JU students submit memorandum to VC, highlight demands|

JAMMU, Feb 16: A deputation of students of University of Jammu led by Hamid Hashmi submitted a memorandum of demands to Vice Chancellor R.D Sharma today and also apprised him with the problems of the students.
The memorandum highlighted the demand of abolition of academic weightage from Jammu University common entrance test. Though this memorandum the students have urged the VC to abolish the academic weightage system and give weightage to entrance test performance.
The memorandum also has mentuoned that5 all the reputed varsities of India like JNU,DU,AMU,JMI etc has introduced the admission process through entrance test.
After giving a keen hearing to demands, Vice Chancellor assured that he will look into mater and sent suggestions to core committee for approval. He however added If the matter is not considered this year authorities will definitely consider it in next year.
The deputation comprised Rajib Mehraj Khan, Zaheer Abbas Khan, Qazi Abrar, Madasar Choudhary and Dinesh Sharma.
