Amnesty or counselling for misguided youth by Police condemnable: ABHMS
2/17/2017 10:17:18 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Feb 17: An urgent meeting of Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha, Jammu and Kashmir was held today under the chairmanship of Chetan Sharma State Convener of ABHMS following contradictory statement by the Director General of Jammu and Kashmir Police, Dr SP Vaid in which he reiterated the stand of Jammu and Kashmir Police to counsel the stone pelters and bring the misguided and vulnerable youth into the national mainstream.
According to press release, in a tweet that he made, Vaid posted some videos in support. The survey or counselling is restricted to 10 districts and a very limited number of gullible youth have been considered. The statement of the Director General of Police is in total contravention of the warning that the Army General issued a couple of days back asking the stone pelters to desist from their hostile activities or face consequences. The warning by the Army General was fully endorsed by the Union Minister of State for Home Kiran Rijiju and Defence Minister of India Manohar Parikar. Parikar was of the view that the Army personnel are at liberty to deal forcefully with those who support militants against the forces and attempt to fail the Army operations against militants.
Taking an exception to the tweet by Director General of Police, Chetan Sharma, State Convener of ABHMS categorically denounced the sympathy that Jammu and Kashmir Police Chief has in his heart for the youth who have since been acting against India, causing massive disturbances, damaging Government properties and supporting casualties of India forces. Sharma said that the Government of India has been trying to pacify and bring to mainstream the Kashmiri youth for the last many decades and the results have never been fruitful. The last year's uprising is the recent example from which the Police should learn before making any tweet that is against the interests of nation.
