Two held, stolen cash recovered within 24 hours

Jammu, Feb 17: With arrest of two accused and recovery of Rs 4,82,680, the Akhnoor police today claimed to have cracked a theft case within 24 hours.
Police spokesman said, "On Thursday, one Ankush Dubey of Manda, Akhnoor lodged a written complaint at Police Station Akhnoor stating therein that some unknown persons have stolen away cash Rs 4, 82,680 from his Automobiles Agency M/s Kushal Automobiles located at Mawa Karora Jourian Road on intervening night of Feb 15/16 after breaking the lock of the shutter."
"Acting on the complaint, a case under FIR No. 29/2017 under sections 457/380 of RPC was registered and investigation was taken up by Inspector Pushpinder Singh SHO Akhnoor, police said.
Police spokesperson added that during the course of investigation, two suspects namely Rinku Kumar son of Madan Lal of Chakkad and Aman Kumar son of Bodh Raj Verma of Goshan working as mechanics in the agency were put on sustained questioning.
Police spokesperson said, "After sustained questioning the duo confessed that they had stolen the cash from the agency."
Spokesman further said that on the basis of their confession made by both the accused, cash amounting to Rs 4, 82,680 was recovered from their possession which they have concealed.
Police said that arrest of thieves and recovery of stolen cash was made within 24 hours of its reporting by promptly acting police team supervised by the SDPO Akhnoor Gurinderpal Singh, and Addl. SP Rural Arun Gupta.
