Marwah people protest, demanded airlifting of stranded passengers

KISHTWAR, Feb 17: The residents of Marwah and Warwan today held a protest again at New DC Office Complex Kishtwar and demanded early airlifting of stranded passengers beside air lifting of patients who need immediate specialized medical attention.
Rainsg slogans in support of their demands, the agitated protestors said that government every year introduce air service for Marwah, Warwan and Dachhan during winters but rued that since last two years the air service was suspended for unknown reason.
Protestors said that the area lacks medical facilities as all the government employees remains absent from these areas and two women had died in last two weeks for the want of necessary medical facilities including timely airlifting to KIshtwar. Highlighting plight of people stranded in KIshtwar town, the protestors demanded immediate airlifting of these stranded passengers on the pattern of air service given to people of Gurez. They also demanded that all those employees stationed at Kishtwar should be dropped at respective places so that they can perform their duties. They said, "As the area remains cut off the unemployed youths are also facing lot of inconvenience to apply for government and private jobs.
Later the agitating people called on DC Kishtwar and apprised him about the issues and the demands of the people.
