Non-teaching and non-gazetted employees of the Jammu enters 18th consecutive day

Jammu, Mar 20: Continuing with their token strike for the 18th consecutive days, the non-teaching and non-gazetted employees of the Jammu University suspended their work for five hours as per the plan and held a strong protest demonstration in front of the Vice-Chancellor's Secretariat.
During demonstration the employees under the banner of Jammu University Non Teaching Employees and Non Gazetted Employees Union raised slogans for fulfillment of their demands.
Speakers on the occasion while reiterating their demands also highlighted many other issues including delay in issuance of regularization order of contractual and casual labour's, cases of 13 Junior Assistants, Pre 1986 items of Assistant Registrars, Cases of 12 Junior Assistant of SAT, Re designation of technical/Isolated Category. The Employees appealed the Chancellor, Pro Chancellor to intervene in the matter to consider their demands as early as possible to avoid further extension of protest demonstration.
The student community is also requested to cooperate during protest period. As scheduled , the Employees took out a protest march of the University of Jammu and completed in front of VC office . In the light of the above and also in continuity to the earlier similar requests made to the authority by the Non-teaching Employees and Non Gazetted Employees, verbally as well as in writing, the authority is again requested to fulfill the genuine demands as agreed upon for the smooth functioning of the institution, general public and particularly students community.
The Non Teaching and Non Gazetted Employees Union requested all the HODs, Directors, Rectors to come forward for the early redressal of our genuine long pending demands.
