'Mentally unstable' man dies of overdose, 3 others bid on life

Jammu, Mar 20: A 45 year-old who was reportedly mentally unstable undergoing treatment at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) after he allegedly consumed overdose of medicines at his residence succumbed today while three other persons including two young girls consumed some poisonous stuff at their places. Police said that Vijay Kumar (45) son of Gian Chand of Badror Pouni Chak was allegedly mentally unstable was shifted to GMC&H after he reportedly consumed over of the medicines at his residence.
Police said that he admitted in Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) on Sunday and today during treatment he failed to respond the treatment.
Police said that today during treatment he failed to respond the treatment and later, the body was handed over to family members after post-mortem.
Meanwhile, a young girl namely Alisha of RS Pura was shifted to GMC&H after she allegedly consumed some poisonous substance poison at her residence.
In Gho Manhasa, a 24 year-old girl allegedly tried to end her life by consuming poisonous substance at her residence.
Police said that Vandana of Gho Manhasa was shifted to GMC&H after she allegedly consumed some poisonous substance at her residence. Police said that she was under treatment when last reports came in.
In Udhampur district, 30 year-old Vijay Kumar son of Gurdayal Sharma of Battal Ballian fell unconscious at his residence and was referred GMC&H from district hospital Udhampur.
Police said that both the cases have been registered at concerned police stations and further investigation is on to ascertain exact reasons behind their extreme step.
