According to sources, two relatives, one in police department and another in revenue department have started encroaching state land in the peripheries of the Jammu city.
"The pair is working fearlessly, as they know nothing is going to harm them. They have already encroached huge piece of land between Nagrota-Jammu stretch," maintained sources, adding that though they haven't raised any structure on the land.
The land they have encroached along the national highway between Jammu-Nagrota stretch belonged to state and was under expansion plan, but due to some lack of feasibility, the plan was dropped.

If sources are to be believed, the pair is highly influential and decide transfers of junior officers, which provides them undue support of the junior officers as well.
"The influential pair had also managed to steal large number of wooden planks, when posted in Bhaderwah," said sources.
The lawlessness created by this duo does not end here only, both of them are also allegedly involved in forging documents, releasing drug peddlers, partying in office among other things.
"The revenue official had also managed seat to his relative in one of the professional courses in Jammu district, despite low merit," sources said.
Meanwhile, sources asserted that both the officers are working under the patronage of minister.
"A minister of ruling government is backing both these officials. Not only this, he even arranges postings as per their wishes, which shows power of this duo," said sources.
They further added that both these officials have marked colonies in city outskirts and are selling them rampantly.
