Early Times Report
Rajouri, Apr, 21: What to call it a tragedy or the failure of the district administration that after constructing the official buildings from the public money meant to deliver good goverance at their door steps, the district administration of Rajouri left those official building for the loot of those having political influential.
One such is the case of Patwarkhana Chingus falling in Chatyar was built with an estimated cost of Rs. 2.50 lakh in the year 1990 with the aim to provide convenience to the locals who have to come to Rajouri for the settlement of their various financial and land issues.
In the starting the Revenue Department opened its office but later on that too was closed by them. Since than the locals have approached the district administration many times besides submitting representations to the concerned political leaders but till today nothing has been done so far except the assurances about that building. Since then the loacls have seen many faces on the chair of District Development Commissioner but no one has evinced guts to take step against those who have illegaly encroached the area and other material of the Patwarkhana.
Instead of renovating this building and retrieving the land from the illegal occupants having political backings, the District administration gave approval of another building in some other areas with an estimated cost of Rs 22 lakh.
This shows the negligence and careless attitude of the administration which is wasting the public money. When Early Times correspondent contacted the Tehsildar Salam Din in this regard ,he was of the opinion that he came to know through him and he (Tehsildar) will verify the factual position about alleged encroachment. However, he assured that he will take up the issue with higer ups and action shall be taken in this regard.
