SDM visits Mankote block; finds several employees absent unauthorizedly

Mendhar, Apr 21: Acting on the complaints of general public about prevalent absenteeism among government employees, the Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Mendher visited the office of Block Development Officer, Mankote and several employees absent from duty in an unauthorized manner sources said here today.
Official sources said that for the last many days people of Mankote have been complaining to the office of SDM Mendhar that the office of BDO Mankote remains usually closed and people are at loser's ends.
Acting on the complaints of general public the SDM Mendhar Rahul Yadav today conducted an extensive tour of Mankote, they added.
Sources said, "During his visit, the SDM Mendhar today visited the office of BDO Mankote where all the rooms were found locked except BDO's room and meeting hall. "The BDO was said to have been on some official tour and the attendance register of the staff was under the lock, sources added.
While talking to Early Times, SDM Rahul Yadav said that all the employees in the office of BDO Mankote were absent among them 5 employees have been identified as AAO Mohur Singh, SO Manzoor Hussain, Jr Asstt Tanveer Khan and two helpers namely Mohd Yousaf and Naseer Ahmed.
"A disciplinary action will be initiated against the absent employees and most probably will be suspended," said, Rahul Yadav, adding Block Development Officer (BDO) Mustafa Manhas has been asked to explain the reason behind the absenteeism in his office."
Apart from this, SDM Mr Yadav also visited several schools and tehsil office Mankote where he expressed satisfactory work won going on and people of the area have hailed the SDM's gesture and sought that such surprise visit to be a routine to put a check upon menace of absenteeism in government offices.
