4/21/2017 10:35:15 PM
Early Times Report
Rajouri, Apr 21: In a controversial order, SDM Thanamandi has placed under suspension Medical Officer (MO), who had marked his presence on the 'attendance register' along with other five employees for unauthorised absent from duty.
Dr Ankush while talking to Early Times said that he had introduced himself to the SDM and despite that the officer placed him under suspension. He has appealed to the Chief Medical Officer and other senior officers to see the CCTV footage about his presence in the health centre.
Some suspended employees reportedly alleged that two other doctors & staff members were also not present in the health centre, but being having close association with the SDM their presence was entered later at about 10.30 pm. Mohd Afzal Mirza , SDM Thanamndi paid surprise visit to Public Health Centre at Lah under Darhal Health Block.
According to SDM office order No.SDM/TM/19-22 dated 21/4/2017 Dr Ankush, MO (NHM), Dr Vibakar , dental surgeon, Khadam Hussain and Yaser Arfat both technicians, Parveen Mohd Arif Akhter, Nursing Orderly and Mohd Arif , safaiwala were absent from duty at the time of his visit.
SDM has placed all the absent employees under suspension and directed Block Medical Officer (BMO) to conduct inquiry & to furnish report to his office for further necessary action. He also directed BMO to provide substitute staff at PHC till further orders.
"The matter has been brought into my notice and will direct the BMO to conduct inquiry into the matter. However the SDM should have contacted me or BMO before going for the suspension of the doctors" said Dr Suresh Gupta, CMO.
Pertinent to mention that District health authorities already facing acute shortage of doctors from Regular side and almost all the health centres under Darhal Health Block are being run by the doctors appointed under National Health Mission (NHM) and such action will further hamper the functioning of the health centres, said a senior Health Officer.
The inhabitants of Thanamndi tehsil had held a massive protest demonstrations in March and didn't allow Mohd Afzal Mirza ,SDM to join his new posting at Thanamandi for five days.
The administration has assured the people about replacing the new SDM in case he failed to perform his duties to their satisfaction" said Shabir Ahmed Bhat, Deputy Commissioner (in March after the matter was resolved after 5 days).
