Instructions to Chinese Army to be ready for combat attack
4/21/2017 10:58:24 PM
The latest instructions given to the
Army in China to be ready for any
combat attack is a matter of worry for India. It is so because the Chinese have never tried to promote cordial ties with India. In fact Beijing has preferred friendly ties with Pakistan because Islamabad has supported Chinese extra-territorial ambition.China has already set up bases in various provinces especially in the Gilgit and Baltistan areas.China has also been allowed to construct vital highways and mountain routes that link Beijing with Muzaffarabad for instance the Karakorum highway. And Pakistan has been a main buyer for Chinese military hardware and at time China has been supplying military and non-military aid to Pakistan. However, this concession has not been given to Beijing by New Delhi. For the last several decades China has been laying claim on parts of Arunachal Pradesh and Ladakh but India has not yielded to the Chinese pressure. The recent visit of the Dalai Lama to Arunachal Pradesh has irked Beijing which issued indirect threats to India telling New Delhi that permission to the Dalai Lama to visit Arunchal Pradesh would further strain the Indo-China relations Chinese
Chinese President Xi Jinping has the ordered the People's Liberation Army's (PLA) newly established 84 large military units to prepare themselves for combat and give priority to building 'new-type' of fighting capabilities. Xi, who is also the chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC), met commanders of these new units at the commission's headquarters in Beijing the other day. In PLA terminology new-type fighting capabilities generally refers to capabilities of engaging in electronic, information and space operations."The new units must prepare themselves for combat and study wars. They should concentrate on improving their joint operation capabilities and technology level," Xi has said the emergence of such units came after Xi ordered the military's structure to be adjusted and optimized, calling for a smaller but capable and flexible military at a Central Military Commission (CMC) conference in December. The call for a reform began in November 2015, when the CMC unveiled a blueprint for the army's development.
Since then, the PLA has set up a headquarters for its Ground Force, founded a Strategic Support Force dedicated to electronic, information and space operations, and established a Rocket Force to replace the former Second Artillery Corps. The previous four top PLA departments-staff, politics, logistics and armaments-were dismantled. Why India is worried over the latest instructions to the Chinese Army because of the recent developments in which China voiced resentment over permission granted to the Dalai Lama to visit Arunachal Pradesh which China claims is part of Tibet. Besides this, the growing ties between the US and India seem to have unnerved China and this way Beijing may show to India and to the US that Chinese military was prepared for any action against its enemy.
Well political observers believe that India has a reason to feel perturbed because there is no other country in the neighbourhood of China except India with which Beijing has been, since 1962, promoting tension in its ties with New Delhi.
Well political observers believe that the latest Instructions from Xi to his Army is simply a warning to India to play a subservient role to China and it would be futile to bank on the US support. However,India is not perturbed because it is confident that its military strength is capable of meeting any challenge from Beijing.
