Jammu, Apr 21: Nat Manch today honoured Lt. Colonel Ranveer Singh Jamwal, the only person from state to climb Mount Everest thrice.
According to press release, son of a Havaldar, Jamwal had joined Army as a jawan in the Dogra regiment. With sheer hard work and dedication, he made it to the Army Cadet College (ACC) and then was commissioned in the Jat regiment as an officer. An experienced mountaineer who led an Army expedition of 30 climbers to Mount Everest with the dual purpose of marking 50 years of the ascent of the first Indian team and bringing down over 4, 000 Kilos of trash left behind by various expeditions on the slopes over the years.
Having more than 24 mountaineering expeditions so far including highest peaks of five continents (Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe & South America), who has climbed Mt. Everest thrice. He has been to Mt. Everest three times & he is also the first resident of J&K State to do Everest three times. Nat Manch President Tarun Sharma complimented Lt. Col Ranveer Singh Jamwal for being among a few mountaineers in the world who had scaled Mount Everest.
Those who were present were Ranjeet Singh , Mohit Sharma and Rajinder Singh.
