jammu, May 18: For one vehicle in the Chief Medical Office (CMO) Rajouri, there are six drivers posted for last many years.
The six drivers-Prem Kumar, Mohammad Akram, Shamsher Hussain, Sanjay Puri, Ashok Kumar and Shahbaz Ahmed-are working without supervisory vehicle, though only one driver is needed here.
Sources in Directorate of Health Services, Jammu, informed Early Times that the Block Medical Officers (BMOs) of rural health institutions of Rajouri have requested the higher authorities to provide drivers for smooth functioning of referral services several times, but their pleas were ignored by authorities.

block Kandi, CHC Kalakote and PHC Khawas of block Kalakote, PHC Lah of block Darhal, PHC Siote of block Sunderbani, 24x7 PHC Laroka of block Nowshera and 24 x7 PHC Kallar Chattyar of block Manjokote are the health institutions facing dearth of drivers, sources said.

Criticizing higher authorities of health department sources further said that some influential drivers who are close to power corridors are enjoying their posting in native places. They were not transferred for the last over 5- 10 years.
