Revival of traditional games must to curb drug menace: Team Jammu

Jammu, May 19: Chairman Team Jammu and Secretary General, Press Club of Jammu, Zorawar Singh Jamwal today said that the revival of traditional rural games is must to curb the drug menace from the society.
Addressing the participants in the Traditional Rural Games at Maulana Azad Stadium on Friday as Chief Guest, Team Jammu chairman, Zorawar Singh Jamwal said that this is really big initiative taken by Traditional Rural Games Foundation to organise such an event for the first time in Jammu City. Jamwal, while interacting with the players of J&K and Haryana, before inaugurating Football Cricket, said that this is a new game, which is the mixture of cricket and football is easy to play and cheap to afford for players . He also added that it is for the for time when this game is being played in Jammu and he is sure that youth of Jammu will follow the game in rural and urban areas too.
"Team Jammu always support such kind of events, which inculcate strength in the youth and teenagers and also take them away from the evils like menace of drugs," said Jamwal and further appealed to the association members to continue with such events in others districts of Jammu and make sure that traditional games would be revive in the Dogra Land.
It was the second day of the three-day long traditional rural games open national championship at MA Stadium in Jammu in which teams from 10 different states of the country are participating.
The president and general secretary of the Traditional Rural Games Foundation Sandeep Manhas and lalit Manhas thanked Team Jammu chairman for such support and participating as Chief Guest on the second day of the sports events. Senior Journalist, Deepak Khajuria and Chairman, Jammu Warriors, Varun Magotra also participated in the event as special guests.
The championship is organising from 18 to 20 May, 2017 and Kabaddi, Football Cricket and Athletics are being played during the event.
