Early Times Report
Jammu, May 19: The members of Movement for Peace, Equality & Justice, Kuldeep Kumar Rao and others appealed the Education Minister, Secretary Education Department & Chairman J&K State Board of School Education to give equal treatment to all schools regarding extension of affiliation during the same session 2016. Vide Board extension of affiliation order No: F( Aff. Gen-B) JD/16/B- 49 dated 25-07-2016 & Govt. order No:-336-Edu.of 2016 dated 08-09-206 the schools which had been functioning for more than 10 years & had completed all formalities was granted 3 years extension. And those who had not completed all the formalities before the said date, were kept pending.
Now in 2017, all the schools kept pending in 2016 were given 5 yrs extension in terms of Govt. Order No:- 112-Edu. Of 2017, dated 09-03-2017, even though some of them have been functioning even for less than 10 years but those who have been running high schools for more than 10 years have been granted extension for 3 yrs only which otherwise were required to be considered for grant of extension for 5 yrs as in the other case of extension of affiliation of the same period i.e 2016. This means that those schools which had qualified for extension of affiliation in 2016 were granted extension of 3 yrs only & those which were not qualified then got 5 yrs extension later on.
They appealed the higher authorities to look into the matter & the extension of affiliation/ recognition of 3 yrs given to schools vide Board, s order No: F( Aff. Gen-B) JD/16/B 49 dated 25-07-2016 & Govt. order No:-336-Edu.of 2016 dated 08-09-2016 be treated as extension of affiliation/ recognition of 5 yrs to the schools which had been functioning for more than 10 years
