Udhampur, Aug 18: A public Park situated in Chabutra area of udhampur in front of District forest Office Udhampur and close to the residence of MLA udhampur is in dilapidated condition.
The Park, named after great freedom fighter and Founder of Indian National Army (Azad Hind Force) Shubash Chander Bose (Neta Ji) was establish 30 to 35 years back, but no one has cared for the unkeep and maintenance of the said Park. Now a days, the said Park has become refuge for the drunkards, gamblers, drug addicts and stray animals as there is plenty of high weed grown over there. Toilet are in shambles, Polythene bags, Plastic Bottles and cow dung is scattered everywhere in the park, bringing disgrace to the great son of the country whose name is associated with the park. The poor condition of the park is also exposing the local authorities who have made mockery of PM's Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
Raj Kumar Gupta, a local while talking to Early Times said, "Parks are places in which a town can take pride, but this park has become disgrace for the town, thanks to the local authorities which are shamefully indifferent". He slammed the authorities for complete lack of vision, drive and initiative. "This place can be made into most reverberating place in the town, where children, youth and the senior citizens can converge and entertain themselves, but there is no vision in the local administration" he added.
Another local said that the Park is situated very Near to the residence of the MLA Udhampur, but even he has not taken any initiative to improve its condition.
