Govt takes serious note of attack on MLA Samba
'Take immediate action against assailants'
8/19/2017 12:30:36 AM
Early Times Report

SAMBA, Aug 18: Taking serious view of recent murderous attack on MLA Samba the Government has issued directives to district administration to arrest the assailants immediately and book them under law for taking law into their own hands.
According to sources the murderous attack on Dr D K Manyal BJP MLA from Samba has shaken the ruling coalition as well as some political parties who term it a dangerous trend which is totally against basic spirit of democracy.
Sources said taking serious view of the attack, the Home Department has issued directives to district administration to act promptly and frame cases under relevant sections of law against the assailants and the conspirators of the murderous attack so that such incidents don`t take place in future.
Meanwhile, people from all walks of life in Samba have condemned the attack and there is a lot of public resentment against the same.
Sources said people apart from their political affiliations are asking that what was the fault of MLA who immediately after accident rushed to District Hospital Samba and examined injured people in his capacity as doctor helped in providing first aid and arranging ambulances to shift seriously injured to GMC Jammu.
Later in the afternoon MLA visited the local village to participate in the cremation of the accident victim who had died on spot after ill fated matador turned turtle on border road on August 16 morning when it was on way to Samba.
The matador which was over crowded had maximum college and school students as passengers.
The MLA on his level tried best to provide every kind of support to victims and as being a local representative he was morally bound to provide every kind of help to victims.
However some disgruntled and anti social elements targeted him to settle personal scores with him and the Government has taken a serious exception to it.
Meanwhile, Samba Police has nabbed some youth for questioning and on their statement the police would lay its hands on conspirators and real culprits.
Sources said police may book them under Section 307 of IPC.
