At businessman's wedding, separatists-mainstream leaders relish Wazwan together
Mirwaiz-Imran Ansari pose for selfies

Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 23: Even as the mainstream and the separatist leaders are seen at loggerheads with each other, when it comes to wazwan parties thrown by "who's who" in Kashmir, the rival camps don't mind to relish the traditional feast together and even to take selfies.
All this, and much more of unusual "love and affection" between the separatists and mainstream was recently seen at the wedding of a leading businessman in Nigeen area of Srinagar. Apart from Hurriyat (M) Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Senior Peoples Democratic Party leader and minister Molvi Imran Raza Ansari and the Abdullahs of the National Conference were also present at the occasion.
Witnesses said the mainstream and the separatist camps enjoyed some pleasant moments while the youth faces like Tanveer Sadiq of National Conference was seen shaking a leg with other guests till late night, something which was objected to by some of the conservative faces present there.
But what was interesting was to see Mirwaiz and Ansari posing for selfies after lunch. In the recent past the two leaders had been spewing venom against each other.
Sports minister Imran Ansari had openly condemned Mirwaiz for the lynching of DSP Muhammad Ayoub Pandith outside Jamia Masjid on the night of Shab-e-Qadr.
Imran had questioned how could Mirwaiz sit on a pulpit when outside a man was lynched. He had subsequently defended government decision of not allowing congregational Firday prayers at the Jamia Masjid for several weeks.
The Mirwaiz supporters had been up in arms against Ansari since and wanted to "teach him a lesson", while Hurriyat M had been issuing statements against PDP. But the selfie of the twin religious-leaders sharing gala mood has gone viral on the social media in Kashmir.
"At the end, both the separatist and the mainstream leaders are politicians who know their business and interests well," said a witness to the gala partying.
Sources said though otherwise Mirwaiz speaks against lavish celebrations of weddings in Kashmir, he didn't raise voice against the mega wedding party thrown by the businessman nor he spoke on "need for austerity".
Sources said given the "bonhomie", the separatists and mainstream leaders resolved that such wazwan parties should be held at regular intervals so that "internal issues are resolved."
Insiders said apart from Mirwaiz and Ansari, the Abdullahs and senior PDP leaders were seen exchanging pleasantries. "Interestingly none of them discussed anything pertaining to the debate over Article 35 A," said host who personally served the dignitaries.
