12months on, JMC fails to take action against illegal Dairy Farm

Jammu, Sept 19: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) has failed to take action against the owner of illegally operating dairy farm in Shiv Nagar despite lapse of an year since a formal complaint was filed.
Ashok Kumar, a local resident informed Early Times that a delegation of Shiv Nagar Ward No 33 lane No10 met local Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) on September 2016 regarding the illegal dairy farm. "At that time the MLA recommended to Commissioner JMC to look into the matter immediately", Ashok Kumar said, adding that whereas the Medical Veterinary Officer of JMC conducted surprise visits on the spot on Sept 21, 2016. After that the owner of dairy also installed a Gober Gas Plant but till date no action could be taken against illegal dairy farm.
A resident said that the owner of the illegal dairy causes insanitation in the area by disposing waste in the nullah in the area, which causes foul smell in the vicinity. Another Resident Mohan Lal said that the cattle of the dairy farm often roam in the streets and soil the entire locality.
Rattled by the illegally operating dairy farm, the residents of the locality lodged a complaint against it over a year back, but JMC continued to be indifferent to the inconvenience faced by the people.
JMC commissioner said that you may contact concerned officer (Medical Veterinary officer, but he did not respond to repeated calls on his phone.
