Early Times Report

JAMMU, Sept 19: Worried over reported cases of dengue fever in Jammu city, J&K People's Democratic Party (PDP) Zone President Jammu West, Puneet Singh Jamwal today Expressed his concern over an alarm being raised by people because of some dengue cases identified in old city and Jammu West areas.
He urged the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) officials to take the matter seriously and constitute a special team along with officials of health department and fan them in different areas to ask people to destroy breeding areas/spaces of mosquitoes.
He said that though the weather is changing and there are least chances of spread of any epidemic yet we are required to take some precautionary measures on a war footing.
The PDP leader urged civic authorities and other government, semi-government agencies and corporate offices to appoint officers of their own who could detect mosquito breeding spots in their jurisdictions and destroy them accordingly.
The JMC must also constitute special squads for the purpose to ensure that there are no breeding spots in their precincts as dengue mosquitoes are 'day biters'. Puneet Singh Jamwal said besides government and semi-government agencies or corporate houses, industrialists, workshop owners, vegetable sellers and we as citizens must all collectively resolve to not to have any such place or container in our premises that allows misquotes to breed.
