10/16/2017 9:23:19 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Oct 16: State Government has postponed Anantnag by-election indefinitely due to security reasons but BJP, which is part of the government, has started preparations for the Panchayat elections. The hundred dollar question is if government cannot conduct Parliamentary by-election due to unfavourable law and order situation how the government is going to hold Panchayat elections which is going to be held in the entire State. For conducting Anantnag by-elections, security is required for only a specific area. If the government is not in a position to provide security in that specific area, how come security would be provided in the whole State. It is believed that like Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) elections, BJP is also befooling people in the name of Panchayat elections. BJP leadership is very much aware that conducting Panchayat elections at this point of time is not possible even then party leadership has started preparations. According to an handout issued here today, "in order to gear up vigour for forthcoming Panchayat elections in State of Jammu & Kashmir, state BJP unit led by State President & MLA, Sat Sharma chaired meeting of party MP, Ministers, MLCs, Vice-Chairpersons, MLAs, State Office Bearers, District Incharges and District Presidents to discuss and review strategy to ensure win-win situation".. While addressing the meeting, Sat Sharma called upon party leaders to focus on every party program to extend reach of organization to every single area of region. He asked them to plan their poll strategy by keeping in view the commitment of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP National President Amit Shah to script win in every single election by working with full zeal and passion. He also asked them to ensure reach of "Mann Ki Baat" and celebration of 6 party festivals of party at every single booth among general public.
