Govt MAM College organizes orientation workshop

Jammu, Nov 21: An orientation workshop for the college faculty members has been organized to spread awareness on Digital India Initiative 17-by-17, an initiative of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India. As per the initiative, a 17-point action plan has been adopted by the MHRD to improve the educational standards in the fast-changing technological world. Prof. Gitanjali Rana (Dean Arts, Cluster University Jammu) and Prof. Twinkle Suri (Dean Student Welfare, Cluster University Jammu) are the Chief Guests on the occasion.
At the Outset, Prof. S.C. Sharma, Incharge Principal of the College discussed about Digital India action plan and the role of latest technologies to increase the functionality and academic standard of the educational institutions. Prof. Rashu Sharma gave brief introduction about the programme and introduced the resource person to the audience. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Vishal Sharma, resource person and Convener of the programme made an elaborate overview of all the 17 points and also discussed the ways to implement these digital action plans in the Institution for the benefits of students as well as for the faculty.
He further elaborated more on the platforms, which are being provided by institutes like ISRO, IIT Kharagpur, IISc Bangalore etc. for students through which they will learn while at home. Further the emphasized on online learning platforms like SWAYAM, SWAYAM Prabha, e-labsthrough which students can learn anything-anytime-anywhere from top-notch faculty of India without spending any money.
