SRINAGAR, Nov 22: As a precautionary measures following slippery road condition due to sub-zero temperature during morning and evening hours, one-way traffic will ply on the historic 86-km-long Mughal road, connecting southern parts of Kashmir with Jammu, and on Srinagar-Leh highway.
However, the 300-km-long Srinagar-Jammu national highway, linking Kashmir valley with the rest of the world, was through for two-way for light vehicular traffic though heavy vehicles will continue to ply from one side only. A traffic police official told that traffic on Mughal road will ply from Shopian in south Kashmir to Rajouri and Poonch in Jammu on Wednesday.
The traffic on the Mughal road, which is seen as alternative to the Srinagar-Jammu national highway, was restored yesterday after remaining suspended for five days due to snowfall and slippery road conditions.
