Jammu, Dec 10: As sequel to ongoing legal fight for extension by the Vice Chancellor, University of Kashmir, it is learnt that the Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu too had joined hand to defeat the Chancellor.
Highly placed sources informed Early Times that the some officials from KU had recently a meeting with JU's officer to settle score, over extension issue. "Delegates of VC, KU recently had a meeting at Circuit House Jammu, with some officers from legal section of University of Jammu", sources familiar to this development revealed.
They said that though, the Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu preferred to join VC KU, secret legal support to KU VC's cause. "Since the VC, KU knocked the door of court of law, now Raj Bhawan too pursuing the case with double strength", sources said and added that the lawyers from Supreme Court are defending, Raj Bhawan's stand to constitute search for new VC for KU.
If sources are believed the Raj Bhawan is willing to extend terms of both the VCs KU as well JU. "Governor, NN Vohra, the Chancellor, it is learnt from reliable sources, keep distance from VC JU, during recently organized function of Radio Kashmir Jammu, where both were present", sources said and added that the Governor, has called meeting with VC, JU on Tuesday.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Governor's house had expressed dismay over the functioning of JU, while directing the varsity to conduct inquiry into alleged favoritism, nepotism and misuse of funds after regular media reporting recently.
