Category certificate doctors ignore Gurez, get choicest postings in Srinagar | | | Mohammad Sarfaraz
Early Times Report BANDIPORA (Gurez), Dec 13: Though the government has given a reservation to the category people, but the fact is that many doctors who were selected on category certificates have either served for one year or never served in Gurez and they are enjoying the plum posting in Srinagar and other districts of Kashmir. Sources in the health department said, "There are so many doctors who are selected on category certificates but at present they are living in Srinagar or out of the city." There are scores of doctors who were selected on category certificates but they served for a year or so including, Dr Rifat PG surgery is ironically doing registrarship at (SMHS) Srinagar from last six years when it is only for 3 years, Dr Nabeela Khalil, Dr Saleem Jaffer dental Surgeon never served in Gurez, Dr Tanzeela Jeelani served for a year, Dr Nuzhat Samoon never served, Dr Tahir Nasir never served, Dr Aamina Samoon never served, Dr Mansoor Lone served for two years, Dr Wasim Qadir never served, Dr Tabasum Hafiz never served, Dr Tabasum Samoon never served, Dr Rubina Aziz served for a year, Dr Razia Samoon served for three years, Dr Shazia Farooq never served, Dr Imtiyaz Dental Surgeon served for two years, Dr Shakeela Dental Surgeon never served, Dr Saima Samoon never served, Dr Nabila never served, Dr Seema Yousf demonstrator SKIMS never served in Gurez. Government must come clear as these doctors have never served the hilly areas like Gurez of Bandipora district and one may ask why these doctors have not been touched so far, sources asked. They said there are other doctors who were transferred to Gurez many times despite serving there for several years like, Dr Shakeela (MO) served for seven years, Dr Feroz Iqbal Consultant Anesthesia served for five years, Dr Naseema Gynecologist for two years and other doctors. Sources said that, "CHC/SDH Gurez is the only hospital where there are two anesthetists without consultant surgeon, gynecologists, and orthopedics. This is just wasting the services of experts when the hospitals in Valley are already short of anesthetists but for Gurez they have posted two without the manpower and other infrastructure. Consultant anesthesia was recently posted at SDH Gurez, there is one medical officer who is PG surgery he has to see Outdoor Patients (OPD) and is performing night duties also. They have made a mockery of the system and have left District Hospital Bandipora without consultant Anesthetists? While as irony is that there's already one postgraduate anesthetist posted there, sources informed. Fact of the matter is that Gurez is a part and parcel of Jammu and Kashmir state, and these doctors must declare that they have not been born and brought up in their area and they should surrender their category certificates. |
