12/13/2017 11:23:46 PM
Early Times Report
Anantnag, Dec 13: Ahead of Anantnag Chaloo, separatist group led by Syed Ali Shah Geelani on Wednesday received a major setback as one its top leader from South Kashmir's Anantnag district has resigned.
Sabzar Ahmad Dar, District President of Jammu Kashmir Muslim League for Anantnag district, announced his resignation through a Srinagar based newspaper.
Jammu Kashmir Muslim League led by Masrat Aalam is a constituent of Syed Ali Shah Geelani's Hurriyat Conference.
"From now I don't have any affiliation with any political or non political organization. If I have committed any wrong please forgive me," Dar's resignation letter reads.
Dar, a top rated separatist leader, has addressed his resignation letter to top police officers of state and local intelligence departments.
Sabzar Ahmad, a resident of Uranhal Anantnag played active role during 2016 agitation by leading the anti-India road shows and rallies.
According to reports, Dar has addressed at least three dozen rallies in South Kashmir's Anantnag and Kulgam district during 2016 agitation. "He was often seen addressing these rallies in Bijbehara, Koimoh, Arwani, Anchidora and other rural areas of Anantnag," sources revealed to Early Times.
"He was the mastermind of boat rally in Anantnag," they added.
In the month of August last year, hundreds of youth took out a boat rally in Jhelum River from Uranhal to Bijbehara.
"Scores of people waving Pakistani flags and raising pro freedom slogans moved from Uuranhaal to Bijbehara," Srinagar based newspapers reported on August 10 last year.
Sources revealed that Sabzar was known among youngsters for making fierce speeches. "He had hardly missed any funeral last year and was famous among youngsters for making speeches and was definitely crowd puller," they added.
Important to mention here, Joint leadership-Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Muhammad Umer Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik-had called for Anantnag Chaloo on 15thof December.
While the crowd pullers of separatist groups are either resigning or have gone into hiding, the security forces are too planning to foil the anti-peace efforts of separatist groups.
