Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 21: All J&K Multipurpose Workers' (MPWs) Union, Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, strongly condemned the promotions list of VLWs/MPWs as Inspector Panchayat Grade-II issued by Directorate of Rural Development, Jammu and showed its resentment in an emergency meeting held here today.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Nazir Ahmed Wani (State President) and Om Parkash Sargotra (Provincial President, Jammu).
In the meeting, Union leaders strongly condemned the promotion list of VLWs/MPWs and placement of juniors on the post of Inspector Panchayat by violating the rules. They showed their resentment that juniors people were placed while seniors ignored from promotions avenues and pleaded the Director Rural Development Jammu to re-consider his decision on the promotion of Inspector Panchayat vide Order No 25-DRD of 2018, dated 15/01/2018.
While showing their anguish on the order, the Union leaders further elaborated that Hon'ble High Court Jammu and Kashmir, has already passed the directions to Administrative Department of RDD to frame combined seniority list of MPWs/VLWs of Jammu Province for further promotions as per norms, so that, injustice should not be done to any deserving candidate or cadre. They said that recent order clearly violates the Court order. The Union leaders also decided to dissolve the Co-ordination Committee of VLWs/MPWS and its decision of 1:3 ratio for combine seniority list in respect to promotion avenues. They said that now seniority to be framed as per norms of Date of 1st Appointment in the Department.
Nazir Ahmed Wani (State President), in his address, urged the Union members to remain united and fight for their genuine rights. He said that decision of promotion to Inspector Panchayat by Director, RDD is against the norms and rules of CSR and it should be re-signed by Administration. Om Parkash Sargotra (Provincial President Jammu), also showed his resentment on the order and urged the Administrative Department to frame seniority list as per directions of Hon'ble High Court, J&K.
