As per the report submitted by Kendriya Vidaylaya Sangathan to Ministry of Human Resource and Development, there were 33 KVs in state of Jammu and Kashmir but 19 of them were running from buildings of other departments.

The report further read that buildings of KV BSF Awantipur, KV Kargil, KV Kathua and KV Miran Sahib, Jammu were under construction since long time and the Sangathan had failed to complete the building in stipulated time frame.
"However, these schools are functioning since long time, but four schools including KV Amino, Jindrah, Pahalgam, and Domana were among the nineteen schools where land was yet to be identified for the construction of the said buildings", the report said.
Sources in Sangathan informed Early Times that that schools which got the land allocated in their favour, failed to initiate work of the building as per guidelines mentioned by government. "Nearly four schools like AFS Awantipura, Bhadarwah, BSF, Humama and Samba were kept under plan for construction of the building, but the administration failed to start the construction of building so far which shows non seriousness of the officials concerned", sources added.
