Why no police case against those abusing Dogra Maharajas, ask Jammuites
5/25/2018 1:08:29 AM
Early Times Report
Jammu, May 24: Even as the government has promptly filed case against the brother of ousted Forest Minister, and Bharatiya Janta Party leader Choudhary Lal Singh, for having used abusive language against Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, why has no case has ever been filed against the anti-India forces in Kashmir who openly abuse the Dogra Maharajas.
This question has started doing the rounds in the public circles in Jammu. While the people appreciate registration of FIR for use of abusive language against the Chief Minister, questions are being raised over silence of successive regimes against the way image of the glorious Dogra Maharajas was being tarnished by a lobby in Kashmir.
Leave apart the separatists, who are seen as paid agents of Pakistan, even the regional parties like National Conference, have largely been living by fueling hatred against the Dogra Maharajas.
The National Conference finds its birth in the conspiracy against the Dogra Maharajas and projecting them as "murderers of people of Kashmir." That National Conference has been giving a "draconian" image of the Dogra rulers while its leadership openly spews venom against them.
The separatists, on the other hand, have been openly saying that Dogra Mahajaras especially Maharaja Hari Singh resorted to massacre of people.
The hatred against the Dogra rulers has been projected so hard that the ruling Peoples Democratic Party Bharatiya Janta Party alliance has been unable to declare long-awaited official holiday on the birth anniversary of the glorious era rulers.
"See the narrative of abuse against Maharajas has been so deep rooted that BJP couldn't manage declaration of much needed holiday on the birth anniversary of Mahajara Hari Singh Ji. And this conspiracy has been successful only because government never acted against those who defamed the rulers," said a professor at Jammu University.
He said now that the government has started to initiate action against those who make use of abusive language, those conspiring against Dogra Mahajaras should also be booked.
A legal luminary said it was the Dogras who gave state its constitution so any use of bad language them be seen as cognizable offence. "Anyone who abuses Dogra rulers in which ever form needs to be booked for legal considerations," said a veteran lawyer.
The people of Jammu largely believe that unless government takes action against forces trying to taint image of Dogra rulers, it will be injustice with the sentiments of the Dogra community.
