District level Inter school tournament organised

Katra, May 25: The annual District level Inter school tournament phase 2 of District Reasi being organised by the department of Youth Services and Sports in collaboration with SMVDSB was inaugurated today at Shrine Board's Sports Complex, Katra by Anshul Garg, Additional Chief Executive officer of the Shrine Board, in a simple and well attended ceremony.
In this tournament the competitions are being organised in the disciplines of Basketball and Archery for the players of the age group of under 14 years and 17 years in both boys and girls sections respectively.
In all 102 young players representing Govt. and Private schools of Katra and other parts of district Reasi are taking part. Earlier all participating players participated in the oath ceremony pledging to take part in the Sports competitions in a true spirit of Sportsmanship and respecting rules regulations and strive for the glory of Sports.
The chief guest was also introduced with the players of inaugural round of competition.
While interacting with the participating players of the tournament Anshul Garg said that all the players and persons having inclination towards sports and allied activities are always welcome at the complex for optimal use of coaching ground and equipments. He also asked the participants to come forward with open mind for any kind of all possible help.
Earlier Ashok Kumar Director Sports shrine board sports complex presented brief account of the calander of sports activities of the shrine board with respect to the fourth coming events to be organised for the staff of shrine board, sports persons at various level.
