Irked by power woes in scorching heat, Jammuites take to social media
Appeal Governor, seek advisor for Jammu affairs
7/11/2018 11:20:17 PM

Early Times Report

Jammu, July 11: Pestered by the poor power supply and other civic woes witnessed in the winter capital of Jammu amid this ongoing scorching heat, the Jammuites have started taking to social media to make fervent appeals to Governor NN Vohra to come to their rescue.
Many of the netizens from Jammu have been running campaigns to keep the Raj Bhawan informed about the state of affairs in the "neglected City, which can witness betterment only during the President's rule."
Manoj Gandotra, a netizen has addressed a post to Vohra. "Governor Saheb, Adaab, Please depute your one of advisor to Jammu to assess the ground situation in Jammu to report back you. Sir as to how citizens are facing acute shortage of electricity & water when humidity is at peak (More than 65%)," Gandotra posted.
Several other people also came up with similar messages stating that successive democratic regimes only duped the people of Jammu and that Vohra was the only hope for them.
On Watsapp groups the Jammu locals have been mostly discussing how to make the best of the governor's rule to make the administration accountable in the region for all seasons. "We have been deceived by successive regimes. Lets try to make the best out of the governor's rule for it is the only hope for the neglected people," the netizens.
Praveen Sharma, a Jammuite said the people of his locality were planning to come up with a online memorandum addressed to the Governor so that administration is set into order in Jammu.
The Jammuites said the previous Peoples Democratic Party -Bharatiya Janta Party alliance allegedly proved the worse for the people as the convention of keeping a summer secretariat office operational in the winter capital was given up.
"Though BJP was voted to power by the people of Jammu the party failed to remember that people of Jammu do need governance even when the Durbar shifts to Srinagar," said a prominent civil secretariat activist.
Sources said the Raj Bhawan is keenly keeping track of aspirations of the people of Jammu and that officials resorting to any negligence will not be spared.
