Now militants kill man offering Nimaz, Kashmiri Muslims silent as usual

Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 24: Stooping to another low of barbarity, the militants have killed a man who was offering prayers at his residence in Kashmir but those who chant pro-Islam slogans to try demean India are silent on the barbaric killing.
Officials said forest guard Tariq Ahmad Malik was killed while he was offering Nimaz in his kitchen in Kunzer, Tangmarg on late Thursday evening. The slain was identified as Tariq, 45, son of Sonaullah Malik, resident of Zandpal area in Kunzer, Tangmarg.
A police officer told Early Times that Malik was fired upon by militants belonging to dreaded Lashkar e Taiba militants when he was offering prayers inside his kitchen. He died on spot. Though his body was taken to sub district hospital, Tangmarg, the doctors declared him brought dead.
Police said LeT terrorist Yousuf Dar alias Kantroo resident of Kawoosa Budgam was involved in the killing.
But what has come as a shocker is that Kashmir Muslims especially the separatists who claim to be "for the welfare of Muslims in particular" are silent on the issue.
From pro Pakistan hawk Syed Ali Shah Geelani to Mirwaiz Umar Farooq who is also a religious scholar to Jamaat E Islami, none of them dared to condemn the killing of a Nimazi.
Likewise the so called civil society and others who claim to be champions of human rights are silent.
The people of Kunzer told Early Times that they are unable to condemn the incident publicly only because the separatist leadership remained silent.
"Had these thakedars of Kashmir and Islam mustered courage the killing of a man while offering prayers, we would take to streets but the point is that these Hurriyat leaders support the killers only for the vested interests," the locals said.
A senior police officer told Early Times that it was unfortunate on the part of people of Kashmir to be silent on such incidents. "If people remain silent even on the killing of a man who was offering prayers, the society is headed towards destruction," the official said.
Meanwhile the deceased was laid to rest amid sobs. "Is this Islamic to kill a man offering Nimaz," they asked.
