Four fresh recruits of Al-Badar outfit arrested during CASO

KUPWARA, Aug 26: From past several weeks, militancy related incidents have risen in North Kashmir districts especially in Kupwara district, four fresh recruits of Al Badar arrested today during CASO in Kupwara forests.
Sources said that just one day back, four youths from Kupwara dustruct had announced to have joined militant outfit Al Badr, their pictures had also gone viral on social media.
"Soon after the pictures gone viral, today early morning the security forces launched a CASO in Kalaroos forests following the presence of militants, sources told early times.
However today in a joint press conference of Army, police, and CRPF, officials told, that a joint team of SOG and army has launched a cordon in Nag Dagi forests of Kalaroos late Saturday night following the inputs about the presence of four Handwara youths, whose pictures wielding gun goes viral on social media while announcing to join the militant outfit Al Badr only on yesterday.
"Today wee hours the joint team overpowered all the four youths from the forest area and taken into custody for further questioning," the official said.
The officials said that arms and ammunition were also recovered from their possession.
The officials identified the arrested persons as Umar Bashir Sheikh (23) of Chotipora, Handwara, Danish Khazer Sheikh (22), Waseem Ahmad Khan (23) of Chotipora, Handwara and Tahir Habib Bhat of Khuru.
The officials said that among the four Waseem is an MBA student while as Umar has done diploma in Operation Theater (OP).
A senior police official from Kupwara confirmed the arrest of all the four youth during the CASO, adding they have been taken into custody for questioning.
Sources further said that, from past many weeks there is an increase in militancy incidents in Kupwara district, the new recruits that infiltrate from other side of LoC are taking shelter in the dense woods.
Almost 125-130 youths have joined different militant outfits this year, the highest since 2010, and it has become a dangerous trend with which the security forces have to deal with, sources informed.
