Early Times Report

SRINAGAR, Aug 29: While the ruling Bharatiya Janta Party in New Delhi yet to decide about formation of any new government in the state of Jammu and Kashmir through possible alliance, many of the senior mainstream politicians from Kashmir have been camping in the national capital and holding deliberations.
Sources said National Conference, President, Dr Farooq Abdullah and senior PDP leader Muzaffar Hussain Baig have been camping in New Delhi and holding some "backchannel" deliberations with top leaders of the right wing party.
The leaders from the twin regional parties were camping in the national capital when the newly appointed Governor SP Malik was also there. Malik is known to be holding cordial relations with both the parties.
Sources said New Delhi was taking the regional parties into confidence about some decisions with regard to developments, including scheduled conduct of Panchayat polls in the coming months.
Sources said Abdullah has been holding deliberations with some BJP leaders and those holding who have started to appreciate him since the day he chanted "Bharat Mata Ki Jai" at the condolence meeting held in connection with the demise of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Sources said Abdullah wants his party to improve relations with the right wing party. "For him the main reason to keep BJP in good humor is the cricket scam where he is accused number one," said an insider in the NC.
The PDP, on the other hand, has been trying to maintain good relations with the BJP even though the alliance between the two ended unceremoniously in June.
Mehbooba's "envoys" even beyond Baig are in the national capital trying for a patch-up with the BJP.
Sources said the while the PDP wants to make attempt in running the government, the NC may try to sabotage every such attempt.
The two senior leaders were seen in the national Capital when Governor SP Malik has also been in New Delhi.
The Governor held deliberations with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Home Minister Rajnath Singh about the developments taking place in the state.
Sources said Malik discussed the scheduled holding of Panchayat polls in the state with the PM and the Home Minister.
Despite repeated attempts, the NC and the PDP leadership couldn't be contacted for comments.
