Militants seem to have carved out new hideouts in Kashmir
8/31/2018 9:51:28 PM
Each day in the Kashmir valley wit
nesses encounters between militants and security forces. Against three losses of security personnel, especially the police, there are 10 killings of militants. This indicates that militants have spread in every part of the Kashmir valley. That is the reason encounters take place between militants ad security forces in Shopian, Anantnag Pulwama and Bandipora. In fact -Militants' bid for demoralizing the police which is evident from the redular attacks othe police before snatching their weapons. These militants, belonging to Jaish and Hizbul Mujahideen, attack the police and invariably snatch their weapons. This is the first sign of process of demoralization of the police. Militants know that the police have become an effective force and they too enter into encounter with the militants and pass on information to other security agencies about the hideouts and plans of militants.
If during the last eight months security forces have been able to eliminate militants in crackdown these suspected terrorists fear that the information was passed on to the security forces by the police. These militants, operating in the Kashmir valley, fear the police more than other security agencies and hence the result of the attack.
Hours after the security forces eliminated two top Hizb-ul-Mujahideen militants in south Kashmir's Anantnag district, Hizb and Jaish militants killed four policemen in neighbouring Shopian. This is the price paid by four policemen by losing their lives for killing two Hizb commanders.
Another reason for these attacks are to ensure that nobody in the future join the police and that is something else that during police recruitment several hundred Kashmiris join the police. But militants plan to create fear among the new recruits so that they quit the force.
Two militants have been killed in Hajin area of Bandipora which means militants have carved out new hideouts in various areas of the valley. And if militants have decided to attack police and security forces the top functionaries of the Army, the police and the CRPF have decided to further upgrade the security grind so that no militant is able to ext end his activities from one part of the valley to the other.. The current security scenario calls for massive operations against militants and bring them out from their hideouts if the Government wants peace.
Now that Panchayat elections are being held in the state it is expected that militants may sharpen their knives while attacking police and other security agencies. This calls for round the clock patrolling.
