Early Times Report

Anantnag, Aug 31: Militant outfit Hizb-ul-Mujahdeen on Friday evening released number of videos in which cops and their relatives abducted by militants during past twenty-four hours can be seen requesting Jammu and Kashmir Police Chief SP Vaid to stop 'victimizing the families of militants'.
"I am requesting DGP not to destroy the residential houses of Mujahdeen and civilians, "Sub-Inspector Irfan Gulzar, a resident of Ruhoo Pulwama, who was also abducted by the militants says in the video. In other videos, relative of cops abducted by militants can be seen making similar appeals to police chief.
Earlier in the day, Politicians made similar requests to militants and Jammu and Kashmir Police.
"Militants and forces victimizing each other's families is highly condemnable and marks a new low in our situation. Families shouldn't become casualties and made to suffer for something they have little control over," Mehbooba tweeted.
Former Chief Minister and National Conference chief Omar Abdullah also expressed sense of alarm over the multiple abductions.
Reacting to the development, former state Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah tweeted: "11 abductions! This is a very worrying reflection of the situation in the valley.
On Thursday, militants barged into the homes of the policemen in Pulwama, Anantnag and Kulgam districts and kidnapped at least 11 family members of cops. Abducted including brother of a police officer. These kidnappings took place after Police detained Hizb Commander Reyaz Naikoo's father for questioning.
Breaking the stalemate, Jammu and Kashmir Police released the father of Naikoo, following which militants released three abducted relatives of cops.
Till late evening all abducted cops and their relatives, as per sources, reached home safely.
However, militant commander Riyaz Nakioo asked Police to release all those youngsters detained by them within three days.
'We do not want to harm you, but we just wanted you to feel the pain of isolation from your loved ones, like you book sons and husbands of Kashmiris under PSA," Naikoo, who claimed kidnappings, says in a video which Hizb released this evening.
"You should not destroy the careers of our young men, the war is not among families and families should be kept out of the war," he adds.
