Despite rebels terming Mehbooba incompetent, PDP reluctant to expel them
8/31/2018 11:38:39 PM
Early Times Report
srinagar, Aug 31: Despite the rebels spiting venom against their own leadership, the People's Democratic Party seems to be in no mood to issue any 'show cause' notice against them, sending them a covert message that doors are still open.
In a statement, the PDP has been made it clear that it will not act against the rebel party leaders including Imran Raza Ansari, Abid Ansari, Abdul Majeed Padroo, Yasir Reshi and Saif-ud-Din Bhat.
The PDP stated that it has preferred not to issue any 'show cause' notice to the rebels and that the party has kept the doors open for them. It would tantamount to say that the party has not issued any 'show cause' notice for speaking against the PDP chief because the party believes that anytime the rebels can return and that doors should be kept open for them.
Pertinent to mention here that even in their recent salvo the rebel PDP leaders termed the former Chief Minister and president PDP Mehbooba Mufti incompetent.
When in the recent past, the PDP went for the major revamp with Mehbooba bidding adieu to her own uncle Sartaj Madni, the rebels remained adamant not to leave any room for pacification between them and the party.
"It is a face-saving move to keep the party intact. The main culprits are still there and actually it is they who are running the party from behind the curtains. The newly appointed ones are just nominal heads," one of the rebel leaders and MLA, Abid Ansari was quoted by the reports s having said.
He added that the revamp is a gimmick.
According to Ansari, Mehbooba is an "incompetent" leader and only her father had the capability to run the party affairs. "Now it is a one-woman show. There is no democracy in the party," he said.
Meanwhile, despite such rancorous rants, the PDP has been acting as a mute spectator against such insults being issued in public by the disgruntled leaders this has hinted at a major political development in the offing in the state. "There are high chances that if ever the PDP gets a chance to stitch a common ground with the BJP to form the government, it will be in desperate need of the MLAs that are up in arms against it at present. There are also chances that if the confrontation continues, it may instigate other members of the party to rebel against the leadership. What remains to be seen is the way in which the things turn up in very near future," says a party functionary.
He added that despite all the confrontation and castigation done by the rebels led by Shia cleric Imran Ansari, the reason PDP is not acting against them is the possible chances of government formation in the state.
"The assembly remains unresolved and there are lot of things that the PDP has to do to go to the peek again during the polls. It can only pacify the anger by remaining in power and provide doles and sops to the people who are going to vote during the elections," opined a political commentator.
