Now Abdullah, Geelani on same page, same day

Early Times Report
jammu, Sept 6: While the National Conference patron, Dr Farooq Abdullah is accused of yet again changing his stand on holding of Panchayat and Urban body polls in the state, the NC leader is on same page as pro-Pakistan hawk Syed Ali Geelani.
On September 5, after holding a party meeting, when National Conference addressed media that it would boycott the upcoming polls, the same day Hurriyat (G) headed by Geelani echoed Abdullah's views.
Interestingly the same day the Hurriyat G also held a parallel meeting. The Hurriyat G, at the meeting of its executive council held with its general secretary Ghulam Nabi Sumjhi, backed the election boycott call given by the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL).
Extending its full support to the boycott call for the upcoming panchayat and municipal elections given by the JRL, the meeting, according to Hurriyat statement, described it "quite mandatory for the success of Kashmir movement".
Within a week, Dr Farooq Abdullah has changed his stand on holding of local urban body polls in the state after having previously supported it.
Just a fortnight ago, Dr Abdullah had been chanting "Bharat Mata Ki Jai" in the national capital and had been telling media that he was true Indian. But he has changed his stand yet again.
Sources said Dr Abdullah was of the opinion of that by chanting "Bharat Mata Ki Jai" he would be exonerated from the multi crore cricket scam, where he is among the main accused. "But presumably he didn't get any such assurance from the corridors of power in New Delhi, so he backtracked," said a NC leader on the condition of anonymity.
Sources said the NC now wants to keep the separatists in good humor and this was why both mainstream and separatists are on the same page.
Previously, the NC was often at loggerheads with the Hurriyat (G).
Despite repeated attempts, Dr Abdullah couldn't be contacted for comments.
