|In September, CUS extends last date to August|
Early Times Report
Srinagar, Sept 9: With no let up in complaints against the Cluster University of Srinagar, in the latest the CUS has extended the last date for submission of examination form but to the previous month, something that is impossible.
In the month of September, the CUS has extended the last date for submission of examination forms to August, putting the students to inconvenience.
"It Is notified for the information of all the students of 1st Semester IG, Honors and Professional courses and 3rd Semester UG, IG and PG Courses of the constituent colleges, that the last date for submission of online examination forms with prescribed fee is extended up to 11-08-2010(August 11, 20108), 4:00 PM," reads the notification.
While once, it could be seen as a typographical error, the notification again speaks about August instead of September.
"Accordingly the last date for submission of examination forms with the late fee of Rs 500 shall be 13-8-2018 (August 13, 2018)," the notification reads further.
What makes the error more prominent is that the date of issuance of notification is correct as September 8, 2018.
However, it is not to for the first time that the CUS has been under scanner for such errors. In the past also numerous such inappropriate and error prone orders were issued.
Official sources said a main cause of mismanagement at the CUS is that most of the officials at the helm happen to be "influential."
"CUS has become a hub of mismanagement as the government has failed to make it accountable," said a senior official in the Higher Education department on the condition of anonymity.
When contacted a senior official at the CUS downplayed the matter. "Don't make a mountain out of molehill. Such mistakes often keep happening as such orders are issued in a hurry," the official said.
Meanwhile the students and their parents have appealed Governor SP Malik to personally look into "misadventures of the CUS".
