Early Times Report
VIJAYPUR, Oct 10: The Vijaypur constituency, which gave three ministers of cabinet rank in last one decade could not get road of village Shiv Nagar, which is just few hundred meters from main Vijaypur town, blacktopped.
Village Shiv Nagar is spread over just 700 meters of land and comprises of 350-400 houses in tehsil Vijaypur of District Samba reflects the negligence of the concerned departments and as well as the local MLAs, who remained Ministers but instead of the empty promises, none could get it blacktopped during their tenure.
Locals alleged that first time the work of the road started during PDP-Congress Government and at that time the MLA Vijaypur Majeet Singh was minister who except laying down concrete and spreading soil over it did nothing and work was carried out on snail pace.
"Two times concrete have been laid down on the stretch till date but no macadamisation has been done till date. Every time when election comes, the leaders make promise to make the road but after winning the elections forget their promise," they said furthering adding that even during NC-Congress government the local MLA Surjeet Singh Slathia, who was also Minister ignored this long pending demand of the area of his constituency.
Not to talk of local representatives, even the concerned departments also never paid heed to this prolonged problem. Astonishingly, departments are in state of confusion about the status of this village that either this village falls under Municipal Committee or Panchayat. When locals visit Municipal Committee office for the road, they are replied that the area comes under Panchayat. Similarly when they approached Rural Development Department, they were said that village comes under MC and with this uncertainty, many civic issues of village remained unaddressed.
Hans Raj, a resident of the village, while expressing anger said that three Governments came but failed to complete road, except promises nothing was done on ground, even the last BJP-PDP Government had raised slogan of "Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas" but the concerned MLA Chander Prakash Ganga also followed the foot step of his predecessors and failed to translate it into to reality.
