Early Times Report
RAMBAN, Nov 19: "Congress Mukt Bharat" is just a slogan and a never ending dream of national and state leadership of BJP," said Raj Kumar Sharma Ward Member of Municipal Committee Ramban and defeated candidate of MC President election which was held yesterday.
While addressing a press conference, Raj Kumar said that public of Ramban witnessed a drama of hunger of power when by blowing their party's lines leaders of core opponent parties of national politics join hands for grabbing power at grass root level politics.
Public of Ramban is closely watching that when will the parties take action against local leaders and members who made cross voting in favour of core political enemy, he said.
He further disclosed that after notification for election of the president and vice president for MC Ramban, BJP lent its support to an independent candidate Amit Bharti while Congress had nominated him for the post of president MC Ramban and Congress members Gopal Krishan and Mohd. Khalid Wani had proposed and seconded his name at the time of filing of nomination papers.
Raj Kumar further said it is proved once again that political parties are just befooling the general public as Ramban witnessed an unbelievable political incident when core political opponents BJP and Congress joined hands for sharing power in MC Ramban.
Pertinent to mention here that in seven members' MC Ramban, the BJP and Congress had secured two seats each whereas two seats were bagged by the independent candidates. Total six members casted their votes in the elections for the posts of president and vice president of the local body. One seat is lying vacant due to countermanding of election because of the death of BJP candidate.
On the day of voting Congress and BJP joined hands for just enjoying power by defying party lines. Sunita Devi, who was the candidate for the position of vice- president from BJP secured only her one vote whereas Khalid Wani candidate of Congress party secured rest of the five votes including that of BJP members. Similarly, Amit Bharti backed by the BJP secured five votes including Congress' two votes.
