NC makes inroads into Kishtwar, wins 10 Sarpanch seats, BJP bags only 2

KISHTWAR, Nov 27: In a major setback to BJP, the National Conference today made inroads deep into its bastion-Kishtwar town-- comprising of 12 Panchayats
National Conference managed to win 10 seats out of these 12 seats. BJP managed to win only two ladies reserved seats including one with a margin of nearly 10 votes. As per the details available with "Early Times", the BJP lost Panchayat seats in the areas which were considered its strongholds.
The party lost Lachdiyaram, Lachkhazana, Hidyal, Poochal A 1, Matta B seats as majority of people cast their votes in favour to NC backed Independent candidates while BJP managed to Win Matta A seat from where BJP's Kamlesh Parihar defeated Independent candidate Suman Parihar and Kamlesha Devi (392 votes) win Poochal A 2 by 10 votes from Poochal A 2 where she narrowly defeated NC,s Novsheena Tabasum (382) & PDPs Nahida Begum (97) plays spoil spot for NC in this Panchayat.
The National Conference managed to win BT 1 (Kulsuma Dev), BT 2 (Mushtaq Bazdar), Hidyal (Pyarae Lal), Lachdiyaram A (Mohammad Amin Shah), Lachdiyaram B (Zamrooda Begum), Lachkhazana (Ranjeet Singh), Matta B (Suresh Sharma), Poochal A 1 (Subash Sharma), Poochal B 1 (Liquat Ali Sheikh alias Jagnu) and Poochal B 2 (Gulshan Ahmed Butt) with majority of vote share.
The National Conference got many votes from Wasser, Kuleed, Bherabata, Matta, Hatta, Hidyal, Drab, Zewar, Zelna, Kuleed and other areas of Kishtwar peripheries.
It is pertinent to mention that Kishtwar block witnessed 83 percent polling today and with the Panchayat elections in Kishtwar district was completed peacefully with few minor incidents in first phase of election in Bhunzwah block followed by booth capturing incident in Rahalthal Panchayat of Mughal Maidan block.
