Jammu, Dec 5: President of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri said that the organization will be always with the Governor's every bold decisions because Satya Pal Malik performance for speeding up development activities, strengthening democracy at gross root level and ensuring accountability and good Governance is very appreciable
"Previous regime should learn lesion from Governor's administration which has given multifarious booth to the Development activities in the State as the all important project which were not given priority, have been started on mass scale which is an appreciable initiative by Satya Pal Malik, the Governor of J&K State" Shastri said this while addressing workers. He urged the Prime Minister for continuous of Governor's then president rule till the problems of the people working and salaried classes are fully addressed and the tempo of departmental speed up. Majority of people want that Governor then president rule should continue, he said
Expressing concern over the undue delay in accepting and implementing the recommendation of Ashok Lavasa Committee set up of by the Central Govt. to review the structure of pay anomalies pertaining to lower staff, he appealed to the Prime Minister to have the matter intervene to settle the issue on priority basis so that benefit of recommendations of said committee reached to the aggrieved clam of employees who are the main suffers.
"It is worth mentioning that this Chunk of class would comprising a sizable of quantum voter population in the ensuring 2019 lok election" he added. NMC leader said that the Ashok Lavasa recommendation would yield a benefit to Rs. 3000/- per month each employees, after implementation of the committee report, which stands submitted over nine month now as per recommendation, the salary of the lower staff has been enhanced from Rs. 18000/- to Rs. 21000/- per month. Shastri hoped that issue will be settled once.
Calling for documents time and again from the poor working class of daily rated workers has irritated them, because the production of record has not yet met any conclusion for their regularization, he added. Beside they have not been paid salary on regular basis, the arrears this runs from 1 to 3 years. Actually they are only three to four months against rendering service of the years, Shastri said.
Stressing the need for enhancing Medical Allowance for State pensioners on the analogy of Central Government pattern, he also urged Governor administration to follow the suit so that pensioners are compensated to defray the day to day medical expenses till the demand of State employees and pensioners to enhance the same to Rs 3000 per month is met with.
