Early Times Report

Jammu, Jan 10: Two days of wet outfield could not saved team Jammu and Kashmir as Jharkhand handed the hosts inning defeat in the last Ranji match of Elite C Group at Gandhi Memorial Science College Ground, Jammu on Thursday. Team Jammu and Kashmir are out of the quarter final race. On the third of the match, hosts Jammu and Kashmir needed to bat whole day to save the pride but they had other things in their mind. Hosts resumed the final day of the match at the score of 24 for no loss. As the game resumed, hosts handed the first wicket on the score of 34 runs in the shape of Qamran Iqbal.
Next to go was Suryansh Khajuria on the score of just 1 run. Owais who had batted quite well in the first innings failed to impress in the second innings and was adjusted LBW by spinner Shahbaaz Nadeem. Captain Rasool could not trouble the score board and was sent back to the pavilion on the score of 1 run. Irfan Pathan somehow scored 20 runs in 30 balls, but was trapped by the Nadeem behind the stumps. Ironically, the highest score getter for the team Jammu and Kashmir was right hand bowler Rasikh Salam. He scored quick entertaining 40 runs in 25 balls, hitting four 6s and three boundaries. Yet again four players made into the double figure club and rest went head down with 1, 2, 1, 9, 1, 1, and 0. Both the bowlers and batsmen have failed to impress by their skills and that too on the home ground. Earlier with outfield running one and half of the day of the Ranji match washed out, team Jammu and Kashmir won the toss. Coming into the bat, Jammu and Kashmir teams continued their batting season's woes and were bundled out for 151 runs.
Ajay Yadav was the pick of the bowlers for the visitors; Yadav had five scalps with four of them being top order batsmen and over an economy of 1.37. Ankul Roy grabbed three wickets with an economy 3.86. Saurabh Tiwary was adjusted man of the match for his brilliant 134 runs knock.
