Early Times Report

JAMMU, Jan 11: The callous attitude of senior officers of state administration could be gauged from the fact that even the directions of Chief Secretary are not taken seriously as after the lapse of over a week, since the expiry of deadline for submission of report, same is nowhere in sight.
As per documents, the General Administrative Department (GAD) on 11/8/2018 had constituted a committee under the chairmanship of Financial Commissioner HUDD while Principal Secretary to Home, Commissioner Secretary GAD and Secretary of Law department as members.
The committee was asked to look after the demands of Civil Secretariat (Non-Gazetted) Employees Union for change of its nomenclature and also inclusion of members of JK Secretariat (Gazetted) service-I and II as members of the Association.
The Committee was asked to submit report by 31/10/2018 but it failed to do the same, after which the employees called on Chief Secretary in his office on 24/12/2018 who on the issue of change of nomenclature of the Union, issued directions to the committee to submit its report by January 3, 2019.
"After lapse of over one week since the expiry of prescribed time, the enquiry report is nowhere in sight", a member of employees said.
An official of the Committee said that he was unaware even if the Committee has ever met after the December 24th meeting with the Chief Secretary. "The report can only be framed if the committee would have hold meetings", the official said.
"This is a simple matter and despite repeated directions from the highest administrative office, nothing has been done so one could easily compare it with the fate of other committees constituted by the government", an employee said, adding that it was unfortunate that the directions of Chief Secretary failed to move the officials.
