Early Times Report

Jammu, Feb 11: Reacting to the statements of Mehbooba Mufti as also NC Vice President Omar Abdullah regarding "grant of Divisional Status to the Chenab Valley & Pir Panjal regions" & "equitable development to all the three regions" if they are voted to power in the ensuing Assembly elections, Kuldeep Kumar Rao, President Thathri Development Front in a statement issued here has strongly criticized both Omar Abdullah & Mehbooba Mufti for their indifferent approach towards both these regions during their tenure holding the reins of power in the state. He said that all these traditional Political Parties are responsible of discrimination with Chenab Valley & Pir Panjal. He said that equitable development to all the regions is not possible without delimitation Commission. He appealed the people of Chaneb Valley & Pir Panjal not to get mislead by these time tested political parties. All these traditional political leaders like to divide the society on the basis of religion to play the vote bank politics but it is unfortunate on the part of our civil society that easily fall into the trap of such selfish lot by appeasing or obliging them on the basis of religion and caste. It is pertinent to mention here that the constitution of the country and state described the republic as secular and use of religion/caste for political purposes is strictly prohibited and based on this, Allahabad High Court has also passed a similar judgment recently.
